Hello everyone-I'm Jackie the other racer:) So instead of the Nashville marathon we had a conflict with, we're now planning on signing up for the LEAD strong half marathon at Towson University in Maryland on May 1st. The description says it's an optimal race for first time half marathoners like us which sounds perfect. Based on the 12-week training schedule Heather posted, we'll start officially training on Febuary 7th.
In the mean time, I'm hoping to get my endurance up to the point where I can easily run 3 miles and also try to improve my overall strength using a workout my trainer provided me with. I'm nervous and excited to run this race...I know we'll persevere through all the hard training and accomplish our goal!

We're going to run...
In April/May of 2010, my college roommate, Jackie, and I will be running our first half-marathon. We decided to write a blog about it so that we can document our training process throughout while staying in touch while training. We will both post about or struggles and accomplishments as we prepare for the longest run of our lives...
